A history and architectural survey of a C15th coaching inn in central Oxford.  A second section describes in detail the C16th wall paintings uncovered during re-decoration  in the 1940´s.  Accompanying the text are five large fold-out site plans showing the evolution of the building over the centuries and fourteen b&w plates, including photographs of the wall paintings.   Also includes a loose colour pamphlet on the Elizabethan ´painted room´ in the building adjacent to The Golden Cross Inn.   Paperback.  36 pages.  Signed dedication from the author.  Good clean condition.  Cat No 2795
