About the Book

Weighty historic survey of the C17th and C18th houses and secular buildings of Stirling and its immediate environs.  Published locally in 1904 this book is already a historic artefact in its own right and the huge number of period photographs of street scenes are a valuable archive.  338 pages.  Hardback with blind stamping and gilt to spine.  Tissue guards to title page and frontis.  From the estate of C19th Stirling surgeon Andrew Fairley Wilson.  Some foxing and a contemporary inscription but otherwise good condition.  Cat No 2157
