As canal construction burgeoned in the late C18th a great many entrepreneurial canal companies were founded, each with a need to validate legal documents.  To do so required a company seal cast and engraved in metal, often with elaborate armorial insignia.  This book reproduces and describes forty such seals from the collections of the Waterways Museum at Stoke Bruerne and the GWR Museum, Swindon.  Paperback.  32 pages.  Very good condition.  Cat No 4510
