About the Book
Viking and Medieval Dublin: Catalogue of Exhibition
A catalogue of an exhibition held to display the artefacts recovered during extensive excavations preceding the redevelopment of urban Dublin in the 1960's which, in turn, led to a substantial understanding of the structure, lifestyle and environment of the important C9th Viking trading port and its subsequent evolution into a medieval walled city exposed through its archaeology under present-day street levels. Essays on habitations, food, dress, personal ornament, domestic life, games, trade, boats and coinage precede the catalogue itself which is illustrated by b&w plates of wattle and post house structures, bones, combs, pewter tokens, and pottery jugs. Paperback. 52 pages. Good clean condition. Cat No 3087
