Following the end of WWII. artefacts recovered during the immediate pre-war Sutton Hoo excavations were taken out of storage and subjected to analysis and research in an attempt to establish their origins and, in particular to identify of the person whose burial was accompanied by such a very rich collection of grave goods.  The author presents a fascinating insight into this research at the time it was taking place .and well before his own lengthy final three volume report which was published much later in the 1970’s.  Illustrated with drawings and photographs,  Paperback. 78 pages.  Good condition with no inscriptions or library markings.  Cat No 4792
