About the Book

Lewis Morris, a land agent, settled in Cardiganshire in 1742 and soon became involved in disputes between the crown and over mineral ownership. He prepared a detailed report of the mines in the hills east of Aberystwyth and this volume publishes details of his descriptions with facsimiles of his plans and maps including a fine large fold-out reproduction of the Perveth Manor and its lead and silver mines.  There are chapters on Lewis, the early history of the mines, the archaeology of the sites, and a bibliography.  Hardback.  90 pages.  In near new condition.  Cat No 4511
