About the Book

This guide describes the Chalcolithic settlements discovered in the villages of Lempa and Kissonerga in western Cyprus, north of Paphos and presents detail on the sites circular buildings, tombs, offerings, objects of daily life, and pottery.  Small finds are noted and illustrated, in particular the small cruciform figure carvings for which the sites are known.  Under the direction of a team of archaeologists from the University of Edinburgh replica houses were constructed to explore the original inhabitants use of building materials and construction methods.  This project is reported alongside photographs of the stages of construction.  Illustrated throughout.  Includes a Bibliography.  Text in English.
