A very large heavy thick card portfolio containing forty folio-size reproductions of the original paintings by Pietro Fabris held by the British Museum which formed the basis of Sir William Hamilton’s 1779 publication 'Campi Phlegraei: Observations on the Volcanos of the Two Sicilies'. Also includes a 24 page full-size illustrated booklet describing the history of the original publication and the creation of its illustrations in the context of Hamilton’s several collecting expeditions to Sicily.
