About the Book
Kilmartin: An Inventory of the Monuments Extracted from 'RCAHMS's Inventory of Argyll, Volume 6'
At the request of the Kilmartin House Trust this stand-alone volume was published by extracting the Kilmartin section from the RCHAMS's original larger inventory published in 1988 but with more up-to-date references, a revised Introduction, and a new section on landscape evolution added. The bulk of the volume is devoted to a thorough and descriptive gazetteer of all chambered cairns; henges; barrows; cists; cup-and-ring markings; standing stones; stone circles; forts; duns; enclosures; hut-circles; and crannogs for which the Kilmartin region is so well known. Illustrated throughout with maps, b&w photographs, site plans and excellent line drawings. Includes a glossary. Large paperback. 126 pages. In very good clean condition. This copy includes a site location map as a loose insert. Cat No 4703
