Catalogue of a 1949 exhibition of the new science of aerial photography featuring the many photographs of archaeological sites taken by Major GWG Allen in the 1930's.  Sixteen large b&w plates depict Avebury, Roman Silchester, Maiden Castle and the Dorchester henges (since destroyed) amongst others.  Notes on the recognition of barrows, cursuses, henges, hill forts and Roman villas are included.  Paperback.  Good condition.  Cat No 2792
