An extensive catalogue depicting ivory carvings and engravings as well as reindeer skin embroideries and appliqués, produced in traditional fashion by the arctic Chukchi indigenous peoples of North Eastern Siberia.  120 colour and b&w plates illustrate the finest examples from the museum’s collection.  A twenty-six page Russian Introduction and a three page English summary precede the illustrations which are followed by a list of captions (in Russian and English) and a bibliography.  Hardback in the original illustrated card slip-case.  Very good clean condition with no inscriptions or library markings.  Cat No 4349
