About the Book

Celebrates the Bugsworth (Buxworth) Heritage Trail that is centred on the lime kilns and canal basin which, at the turn of the C19th, represented one of the largest inland ports in England from where large quantities of stone were transported out of the Derbyshire Peak quarries.  The entire complex is now a scheduled monument of industrial heritage significance.  Nine booklets provide a record of the engineering challenges met during construction, as well as the canal basin itself, the tramway, and the associated buildings and cranes.  Illustrated with archive photographs and site plans.  Complete collection in good condition.  Cat No n10
