Collected by Prof Ruhe whilst lecturing at the University of Adelaide in 1965, this illustrated catalogue describes 42 aboriginal paintings with precise information on collecting site, artist (if known), tribe, size, colour and a detailed description of the subject matter and its symbolic meaning.  At the time of collection several of the artists were already elderly.  The catalogue is preceded by an introductory essay by the collector and is accompanied by b&w photographs.  Includes a map of Arnhem land showing collection sites and a bibliography.  Paperback.  28 pages.  Obvious sticker mark to front cover, otherwise good condition.  Cat No 3926
