A comprehensive survey of the structure and decoration of the late-Romanesque Moldavian church of St Nicholas at Bălineşti in Romania characterised by its disassociated bell tower and polygonal narthex as well as its external decorations of glazed disc insertions and its lavish internal frescoes of the early C16th for which it is justly renowned.  A large number of colour and b&w illustrations of the frescoes are depicted and their iconography identified, many in close detail with explanatory diagrams.  Text is in Romanian with short English and French summaries.  Hardback.  48 pages plus 69 plates.  Good clean condition in a slightly worn dustjacket.  Cat No N174
