Nine academic papers publishing the results of research into the extant remains of this large Roman villa at Varignano Vecchio on the Italian western coast which was built in the early first century B.C. on the site of an earlier residential building.  In the period of Sulla the complex was re-built as a large and monumental villa for the master of the household with warehouses and buildings associated with wine and oil production.   In the first half of the first century A.D. new thermal baths were constructed fed by a large imposing cistern.  Large format paperback.  80 pages.  Illustrated with extensive site plans and many full colour photographs.  Bibliography.  Text in Italian.  Slight price sticker marks and slight creasing to the corner of cover but internally good clean condition.  Cat No 3601
