About the Book

Prior to the construction of an underground car park in the grounds f the Palace of Westminster archaeological excavation revealed the base of a large C15th fountain known to have been the focal point of New Palace Yard up to the C17th and called the Great Conduit.  What was not expected was the discovery that this fountain used as its foundations rubble from an even earlier C12th fountain likely to have been sited somewhere nearby.  Reconstructions of both fountains accompany the text.  Paperback.  16 pages.  Good clean condition.  Cat No 3779
