The Roman Bridge of Cordoba, flanked by the Puerta del Puente Gate on one side and by La Calahorra Tower on the other, has been the only North-South access link in the city for centuries. Inseparably linked to the historical evolution of Cordoba and its river, it has also been the construction which has undergone the most transformations as the years have passed, as a result of its role as the main communication link, its defensive role and the rises in the level of the Guadalquivir river, which have significantly changed its original appearance.
